VISION AND MISSION STATEMENT
We,
the Salesian of Don Bosco Quepem, Goa, belonging to the Province of
Panjim-Konkan with Blessed Jose Vaz as our Patron, feel called by God to share
in the vision of our Father and Founder, St. John Bosco to become Good
Shepherds after the heart of Christ and signs and bearers of God’s love to the
young. Through loving relationships, integrity and excellence, we strive to
bear witness to the values of the Kingdom especially to the poor marginalized
youth of the Quepem and Canacona talukas of South Goa.
Called as a Fraternal Community to share
in this mission, we continue this work
of Don Bosco, devoting our lives for the holistic development of the
young concretely by:
- Providing academic, technical, cultural and integral value education to youth;
- Providing educational facilities to those who have discontinued schooling, through NIOS;
- Providing vocational guidance and counseling to youth;
- Promoting vocations to the priesthood and religious life;
- Forming leaders among the local Catholic community;
- Enabling youngsters from remote villages to get educated and employed/self employed;
- Empowering
men and women through a rights-based approach towards their personal and
community development.
In keeping with our goal and mission, we commit ourselves to provide the following facilities:
- Pope John XXIII Pre-primary, Primary and Secondary School (co-ed)
- Pope John XXIII Higher Secondary School – Arts, Commerce, Science (co-ed)
- Open School (NIOS) for Secondary and Senior Secondary (co-ed)
- Don Bosco Vocational Training Institute (Nonformal)
- Pastoral Ministry in the Parish and Chaplaincies in Religious Convents
- Animation of the Salesian Cooperators and the Past Pupils
- Daily Oratory/Youth Club and Youth Animation Programmes
- Social Development Work (Self-Help Groups, Watershed, Outreach Projects)
- Counselling, Vocational and Career Guidance
- Music Academy
FUTURE PLANS
a) To upgrade the Vocational Training Institute at Kanagal, Quepem
b) To shift the Higher Secondary School to Kanagal, Quepem
c) To start sustainable development projects in the remote villages of the talukas of Quepem and Canacona
d) To establish
a flourishing Oratory/Youth Centre at Don Bosco Quepem
e) To involve
the Salesian Cooperators and Past Pupils more actively in the mission for poor
and marginalized youth
