On January 6th 2012 the staff of Pope John XXIII Higher Secondary and the students of Std. XI participated in motivational training workshops conducted by Dr. Allan Abreu and Ms. Karuna Satardekar of GVM’s College of Education, Ponda.

Dr. Allan Abreu, who currently holds the post of officiating Principal of GVM’s College, conducted lively sessions on The Seven Habits for Highly Effective Teachers.  His vitality and vigour were highly contagious. Accomplished musician that he is, action songs played a vital role in his presentations.

Through power point presentations, group activities and examples from the lives of great personages, Ms. Karuna Satardekar made the students of Std. XI realize the importance of time management and taught them practical ways of motivating themselves to achieve greater heights.

The Vote of Thanks was proposed by our Teacher Coordinator, Ms. Sharmila Da Costa, and one of our students, Ms. Elodie Goes.

CHRISTMAS FESTIVITIES AT QUEPEM

Come Christmas and the ambiance at Don Bosco Quepem is suffused with festive nostalgia as the various sectors of the institution vie with one another to celebrate the feast of Christ’s birth in all pomp and pageantry.

Students of the primary school, the high school, the higher secondary and the open school celebrated with gusto, singing traditional carols and dancing enthusiastically to vibrant Christmas music. The icing on the cake, of course, was the arrival of Santa Claus with goodies for the young and old.

Bro. Anthony Rocha was the surprise Chief Guest at the open school programme. In his Christmas message, Fr. Anisio Mota asked the students not to get caught up only in festivities, but to strive sincerely to bring Christ back into Christmas.

We wish all our readers a Blessed Christmas and a New Year that brings us closer to God and our fellow beings.

At an impressive school ceremony on the 19th, the tricolor was hoisted by our SDPO, Shri Rohidas K. Patre, who was Chief Guest on the occasion.  Fr.
